We are all acting in an archetypal character, or “mask" whether we are aware of this or not.  It is simply a necessary aspect to maneuver through our life.  The old fairy tales and ancient myths are all teaching stories about archetypal scenarios that we are still acting out.  Author and teacher, Carolyn Myss states that we are currently in the “age of vampires.”  We can see this through the greed that is running rampant through the world.  It is important that we consciously take time for introspection, watch our actions, and respect all of Life and the beings that live on Earth.  Otherwise, we easily fall into unhealthy archetypes and strategies as reactions, as opposed to life-affirming actions.  

The Toltec Master is one who chooses what archetype he/she is invested in.  He/she “wears the mask”…….the mask does not “wear him/her.”  Our lives are Epic Journeys of fairy tale quality, and we are the Travelers in our own personal story.  Perhaps in our story, we must embrace the Mother/Father archetype, the Boss, or Healer, the Princess, the Professor, etc., etc., to accomplish our daily purposes.  I invite all of us to choose wisely and with love who we will be each day.
