And with her obsidian knife, she cut the threads that kept her bound to a kingdom to which, she suddenly realized, she never belonged. It was a hard cut; some of the red threads bled and the drops were carried away in the water. She cried a red tear. But she fundamentally knew it was her nature; she was an outsider.
