The Road to Ceborucco

Quilted Batik, Acrylic Paint, Embroidery

24”Lx24”W, 2”D

This piece depicts a journey with my teacher Allan Hardman, my husband Kevin, and me, traveling through Mexico to find the path to the top of the sacred volcano, Ceboruco.  On the journey, we also looked for ourselves, the truth of ourselves.  We never did make it….we drove around the volcano without ever finding the path to the top.  But we did find this magnificent landscape.  It made the day’s journey worthwhile in the most magical way….and we released our expectations of how things should be, and found ourselves right where we needed to be.  Quilted into this piece is the Enneagram, a geometrical pattern that represents nine different patterns of personalities.  I have found it most useful in understanding myself and the relationships I am in.
