The Avenue of the Dead is the “main street” found at many pyramid sites in Mexico.  It coincides with the Medicine Wheel and the chakra system.  To walk the Avenue of the Dead is to metaphorically “jump into the mouth of Quetzalcoatl, the two-headed serpent“ and “die” to your present way of life to be “reborn” in a new cycle or “pacha” that spirals ever upwards.
